Former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, has broken his silence on social media following a tragic road accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the accident occurred on Monday, December 29, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, resulting in the death of Joshua’s friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele.

The British-Nigerian boxer, who sustained minor injuries in the crash, was treated and discharged from hospital on New Year’s Eve before returning to the United Kingdom on Saturday.

Joshua made his first public appearance since the incident through a social media post shared on Sunday across his verified platforms.

Reports indicate that the accident happened when the SUV conveying Joshua and three others crashed into a stationary truck, reportedly due to brake failure.
Joshua was said to have narrowly escaped death after changing his seat position shortly before the collision, a move reportedly made because his size was affecting the driver’s visibility.
