Controversial street-pop artiste, Portable, has reportedly avoided arrest following a heated confrontation with actress and content creator, Ashabi Simple, who shares a child with him.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the dispute occurred on Thursday, January 1, 2026, when Ashabi paid a visit to the singer’s bar located in Ogun State, a visit that later spiralled into a public altercation.

A video that surfaced online captured the tense exchange between both parties, drawing widespread reactions across social media.
Ashabi, who is often publicly referred to as one of the singer’s baby mamas, was seen expressing displeasure over the description, insisting that she should be recognised as a wife rather than reduced to that label.
Portable, however, stood his ground, stressing that his only recognised spouse is his legally wedded wife, Bewaji, while every other woman associated with him remains a baby mama.
The disagreement reportedly degenerated into a physical confrontation, with allegations that the singer pushed and assaulted Ashabi during the argument.
The situation escalated further when Ashabi, alongside her siblings, lodged a complaint with the police, accusing Portable of assault and intimidation.
In a video shared on her social media page, Ashabi claimed she visited the bar at the singer’s request, but the encounter turned hostile following a disagreement.
She further alleged that Portable confiscated their phones and issued threats during the confrontation.
Following the report, police officers were said to have proceeded to the singer’s residence to effect an arrest, but he was reportedly not at home when they arrived.
Instead, the officers met his pregnant wife at the house, while Portable was said to have left the premises before their arrival.
