The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has openly reaffirmed his total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, amid rising tensions within the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Eko Hot Blog reports that Wike made the declaration on Tuesday while continuing his political tour of local government areas in Rivers State, stressing that grassroots support for the President in the state remains solid.

According to the former Rivers State governor, his tour had already covered Oyigbo and Ogu-Bolo local government areas, with Akuku-Toru and Degema next on the agenda.
“Yesterday, we were in Oyigbo and Ogu-Bolo LGAs. Today, we will be in Akuku-Toru and Degema LGAs,” Wike stated in a post on X.
“Here, it is local politics, and our support for Mr President is total.”
Wike’s remarks come against the backdrop of an escalating political dispute within the APC, particularly with the party’s National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru.

Basiru had on Monday called for Wike’s resignation from the Federal Executive Council, accusing him of being overly preoccupied with political developments in Rivers State.
In response, Wike cautioned the APC chieftain against meddling in Rivers politics, warning that his “hands will burn” if he continued to interfere.
The exchange has further highlighted internal frictions within the ruling party, even as Wike continues to project unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu.
