A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Joe Igbokwe, has defended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting that Nigerians elected him to reposition and reform the country.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Igbokwe made the remarks in a post shared on his official Facebook page on Tuesday while reacting to growing political opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, Tinubu was not voted into office to continue what he described as “business as usual,” but to implement policies aimed at rebuilding Nigeria and addressing long-standing national challenges.
The APC chieftain stressed that the country must undergo significant reforms to achieve progress and stability, adding that the President should be allowed to carry out his mandate.
He also issued a warning to opposition figures allegedly working against Tinubu’s re-election ambition, stating that those attempting to frustrate the administration’s efforts would face political consequences.
“We voted for PBAT to come and retool and rework Nigeria. We did not vote for him to come and play or continue business as usual,” Igbokwe wrote.

His comments come amid renewed political activities and coalition talks among opposition leaders seeking to challenge Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 presidential election.
