Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a suspected inter-state kidnapper, Abubakar Mohammed, in a coordinated intelligence-led operation spanning three states.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the arrest was confirmed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola.

According to the statement, the suspect was apprehended following credible intelligence on the activities of a notorious kidnapping and armed robbery syndicate operating across Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers states.
Police said the breakthrough came on December 29, 2025, when operatives of the Commissioner of Police Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) extended their investigation to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, leading to Mohammed’s arrest.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly led officers to a concealed bush along Tobia Village, Amasoma area of Airport Road, Bayelsa State, where a cache of arms was uncovered.
Items recovered from the location, which were buried and wrapped in a sack, included one AK-47 rifle, 76 rounds of live ammunition, and two AK-47 magazines.
The police further disclosed that the investigation recorded another success on January 2, 2026, when the suspect guided operatives to a second arms dump located at Uvwiamuge Forest along the Ughelli–Warri axis.
Recovered from the site were one K2 rifle, 49 rounds of live ammunition, three K2 magazines, one pump-action gun, and 32 live cartridges.
Police said the suspect is currently in custody, while investigations are ongoing to track down other members of the syndicate.
