The monarch has consistently demonstrated people-centered leadership through annual initiatives designed to support residents across all social categories.
These include Children’s Day celebrations, youth empowerment schemes, welfare support for widows, widowers and the less privileged, as well as healthcare outreach and free medical treatments for community members.
Speaking on the empowerment initiative, Oba Oguntimehin reaffirmed his passion for grassroots development.
According to him, “empowerment is a key tool for reducing hardship and restoring dignity to our people, and this programme is designed to equip beneficiaries with skills and tools that can sustain them.”
The palace disclosed that the empowerment materials lined up for distribution include sewing machines, motorcycles, catering equipment, hairdressing tools, barbing kits, makeup kits, and other vocational materials aimed at promoting self-reliance among beneficiaries.
A palace official noted that “the 2026 Oguntimehin Day will not only celebrate culture but also empower residents with practical resources to earn a living.”
Community leaders and residents have commended the monarch’s continuous interventions, describing his reign as one focused on compassion, inclusion, and sustainable development at the traditional level.
