Two persons sustained injuries on Sunday morning after a loaded mini truck conveying perishable goods overturned on the Third Mainland Bridge near the University of Lagos (UNILAG) waterfront, Lagos.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident in a series of updates shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, noting that the accident occurred on the Island-bound section of the bridge.

According to the agency, the mini truck fell on its side in what it described as a lone accident, leaving two casualties who were promptly attended to by emergency responders.
LASTMA disclosed that the affected vehicle has since been fully recovered, although the process of transloading the perishable goods into another truck was still ongoing as of the latest update.
“The vehicle involved in the earlier reported accident on the Third Mainland Bridge by UNILAG waterfront inward the Island has been finally recovered. Transloading of the goods is yet to be completed as we await another truck to complete the process,” the agency stated.
Videos released by LASTMA showed the overturned mini truck lying by the roadside, while officials and other workers transferred the cargo into an alternative vehicle to clear the road and prevent further traffic disruption.

In an earlier statement, the traffic agency said its officers, working alongside the Nigeria Police Force, swiftly moved to manage traffic and maintain order on the busy bridge.
“Efforts are ongoing to transload the fallen goods into another vehicle while evacuation of the mini truck is expected to follow immediately. Traffic is under control by our personnel, with the assistance of the Police,” LASTMA said.
The Third Mainland Bridge is one of Lagos’ busiest transport corridors, and the incident caused a brief slowdown before traffic was brought under control.
