- We Win Elections Through Mobilisation, Not Rigging – APC
- Olawuyi described the APC as a party deeply rooted at the grassroots
- Hon. Aliyu Murtala Omoboye, called on party members to participate actively in the e-registration exercise
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed allegations of electoral malpractice, insisting that it has never rigged elections at any level in Nigeria.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the party said its consistent electoral success is the result of effective grassroots mobilisation and strategic voter engagement, not manipulation of the electoral process.

This position was reiterated by the Member representing Ekiti/Oke Ero/Irepodun/Osi Federal Constituency, Hon. Raheem Tunji Olawuyi, during the official launch of the APC membership e-registration exercise at Omu Aran Ward I over the weekend.
Speaking at the event, Olawuyi described the APC as a party deeply rooted at the grassroots, noting that its ability to mobilise supporters at critical moments has made it a reference point for opposition parties.
“APC does not rig elections to win. We have never done so and we have never thought of doing so,” Olawuyi said. “What we do well is mobilisation. Before elections, I sit down and calculate how many votes we will get in every polling unit. By the time opponents are thinking of rigging, they have already lost because mobilisation has taken place.”
The federal lawmaker stressed that election victory is determined long before polling day through planning, voter outreach and party organisation, rather than last-minute tactics.
On the APC membership e-registration exercise, Olawuyi explained that the initiative is aimed at revalidating party members nationwide and ensuring accurate data ahead of future elections.
He noted that during the 2023 presidential election, the number of votes recorded did not align with the party’s claimed membership strength of about 42 million, making it necessary to determine the party’s actual numerical strength at ward, polling unit, local government, state and national levels.
“As a practical and scientific politician, the president wants to know the true strength of the party,” he said. “This exercise will help us know exactly how many members we have, and there will be no double registration because each membership is tied to the National Identification Number (NIN).”

Olawuyi urged party members to use the opportunity to mobilise more people into the APC, describing strong membership as the foundation for effective political representation and good governance.
Reflecting on his popular political alias, Ajuloopin (seniority has no limitation), the lawmaker said the name was inherited from his father and that he has worked deliberately to uphold and build on its legacy of integrity and credibility.
“I came into politics unknown to many people, but once they heard the name Ajuloopin, they recognised the values attached to it. Since then, I have continued to add value to that name,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, the Speaker of the Irepodun Local Government Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Murtala Omoboye, called on party members to participate actively in the e-registration exercise, describing it as crucial to the APC’s electoral success.
According to him, effective mobilisation through accurate membership data would position the party strongly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“When we mobilise, we mobilise extensively,” Omoboye said. “With this exercise, we are confident that the APC will record victory in the 2027 elections.”
