President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday ahead of his participation in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, which begins on Monday.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the President’s aircraft touched down at the Presidential Wing of Zayed International Airport at exactly 11:30 pm local time.
Tinubu was received by the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, alongside the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al Shamsi. Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and members of the Nigerian diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi were also present.
Additional members of the Nigerian delegation, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Muhammed Muhammed, later welcomed the President at his hotel.
The visit to Abu Dhabi followed Tinubu’s stay in Europe, where he engaged in high level discussions with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and French President Emmanuel Macron as part of ongoing diplomatic engagements.
The 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is being held under the theme “The Nexus of Next, All Systems Go.” The event serves as a global platform bringing together world leaders, policymakers, investors and experts to advance dialogue on sustainable development, climate action, energy transition and inclusive economic growth.

President Tinubu’s participation is expected to further strengthen Nigeria’s engagement in global sustainability discussions while reinforcing the country’s diplomatic and economic relations with the United Arab Emirates.
