Senior Barr. Olufunke Fatima Raji-Rasaki, a former senator, celebrated her 70th birthday on Tuesday, January 12, 2026, with the launch of her foundation.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the event, attended by family, friends, and prominent dignitaries, took place at Harbour Point Marquee, Victoria Island, Lagos, and was a beautiful display of joy, love, and appreciation for a life well-lived.

The occasion was graced by notable personalities including Governor Seyi Makinde; former Lagos Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode; former Ogun Governor, Ibikunle Amosun; and former Ondo Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

Traditional rulers present included the Olubadan of Ibadan, Alh. Senator Abudl Rasheed Ladoja; the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Dr. Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo; and the Olu Epe of Epe Kingdom, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun.
Other dignitaries included Alh. Rasak Okoya and wife, Mother in Israel Mrs. Esther Ajayi, and Chief Keshington Adebutu, among many others.
The celebration started with a church program. The opening prayer was led by Pastor Dr. Adebiji, followed by praise, worship, and hymns performed by the choirs. Pastor Tunde Bakare delivered the sermon and prayed for the celebrant and her family.
The celebrant also shared her testimony and offered thanksgiving for her life’s milestones. The closing prayer for the church service was delivered by Governor Seyi Makinde.

The event then moved to a reception where dignitaries, friends, and family gathered to honor the celebrant and her achievements. Highlights of the day included opening remarks by the father and mother of the day, Alh. Rasak Okoya and his wife, and a welcome address by the chairman.
