- Security Is a Collective Responsibility – Olubadan
- Noted that Nigeria, like many other nations, is currently grappling with security challenges
- Reaffirmed his commitment to the peace and security of his domain
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Dr) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa I), has called on Nigerians to be more security-conscious in their daily lives, stressing that the country’s security situation requires collective vigilance and responsible behaviour.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the monarch gave the advice while receiving Khalifa Sheikh Habeebullahi Muhyideen Ajani Bello, successor to the late renowned Islamic preacher, Alhaji Muideen Bello, during a courtesy visit to his palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan, Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga, the traditional ruler noted that Nigeria, like many other nations, is currently grappling with security challenges that demand heightened awareness from citizens.
According to Oba Ladoja, safety should remain a top priority, urging Nigerians to be mindful of their movements and daily engagements while cooperating with security agencies to protect lives and property.
The Olubadan emphasised that peace and security cannot be achieved by government alone, adding that community participation and timely sharing of information are essential to maintaining a safe society.

Reflecting on his ascension to the throne, the monarch described his emergence as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland as divinely ordained, noting that leadership comes with responsibility, humility, and service to humanity.
He also advised Sheikh Habeebullahi Bello and his followers to uphold the legacy of his late father by remaining focused on positive values and resisting distractions that could undermine their mission.
Earlier, Sheikh Habeebullahi Muhyideen Ajani Bello expressed appreciation to the Olubadan for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage, describing the monarch as a symbol of resilience, tolerance, and exemplary leadership.
The cleric said he was confident that Oba Ladoja’s reign would promote peace, stability, and progress in Ibadanland and Oyo State, adding that the monarch’s enthronement was ordained by God.
He offered prayers for the Olubadan, asking for divine wisdom, sound health, victory over adversaries, and long life to continue serving humanity.
The visit was attended by prominent chiefs and community leaders, including the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba (Barr.) Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola, Mogaji Adepo Gbadeyanka, and other members of the Olubadan-in-Council.
The palace stated that the visit further highlighted the strong relationship between traditional institutions and religious leaders in fostering peace, unity, and social harmony in Ibadanland.
The Olubadan reaffirmed his commitment to the peace and security of his domain, urging residents to remain law-abiding and supportive of efforts aimed at building a safer society.
