According to the Acting Military Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Mohammed Goni, the strikes targeted suspected terrorists gathering and moving around parts of Monguno and Biu Local Government Areas.

In Monguno, an armed reconnaissance aircraft detected suspected terrorists around the Aduwa axis and subsequently identified a larger group within a nearby settlement.
After surveillance and operational approval, the military carried out two precision strikes against the gathering.
A post-strike assessment indicated that about 16 suspected terrorists were killed.
The aircraft later identified another group of approximately 10 suspected terrorists attempting to regroup away from the original target. The military said another precision strike was launched against the group and successfully engaged the targets.
In a separate operation around Buratai in Biu Local Government Area, an Operation Hadin Kai aircraft tracked another gathering of suspected terrorists.
Following continued surveillance and approval, the aircraft conducted a precision strike, with the military reporting that about 10 suspected terrorists were neutralised.
The military said the latest operations highlighted improvements in its intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities, particularly in detecting terrorist movements and preventing them from regrouping.

It said the continued air campaign was designed to restrict terrorist activities, disrupt their command structures and weaken their logistics and fighting capabilities.
The strikes are part of the wider counter-terrorism campaign being conducted by Operation Hadin Kai to degrade terrorist networks and improve security across the North-East.
The military said air operations were being supported by non-kinetic measures such as community engagement, strategic communication, counter-messaging and humanitarian coordination.
It also called on terrorists and their associates to abandon violence and surrender, saying recent defections indicated that sustained military pressure was affecting terrorist networks.
Operation Hadin Kai urged residents to remain alert and provide security agencies with credible information that could help detect threats early.
The Joint Task Force said it would continue coordinated operations against terrorist groups while supporting efforts to restore peace, security and normal economic activities across the North-East.
