APC Strategy, Conflict Resolution Committee Holds First Meeting in Abuja
Governors and party leaders attended the closed door Abuja meeting
Committee targets internal disputes and nationwide party mobilisation

The Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation Committee of the All Progressives Congress APC held its inaugural meeting on Monday in Abuja, barely weeks after its inauguration by President Bola Tinubu.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the closed door meeting took place at the Yobe State Governor’s Lodge in the Federal Capital Territory and was hosted by the committee’s chairman and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni. The gathering drew several governors and senior party leaders, highlighting the importance the ruling party attaches to the committee’s assignment.

Governors present at the meeting included Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, Uba Sani of Kaduna State and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State.

Also in attendance were the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello. Other notable participants were Senator Kabiru Marafa, former APC National Legal Adviser Muiz Banire, and Ibrahim Masari, Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Political Affairs.

However, three governors who are members of the committee were absent from the meeting. They are Bassey Otu of Cross River State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, and Umar Namadi of Jigawa State.

President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation Committee on December 24, mandating it to address lingering internal disputes within the APC. The President also tasked the committee with strengthening the party’s mobilisation structures nationwide ahead of future political engagements.

Sources indicated that the inaugural meeting focused on setting the committee’s operational framework, including strategies for reconciling aggrieved members and consolidating party unity across states.

The committee is expected to play a key role in stabilising the party as it navigates internal challenges and prepares for upcoming political activities.
