The National Judicial Council has recommended 14 candidates to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointment as Judges of the Federal High Court.
The recommendation was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday evening by the Deputy Director of Information of the NJC, Mrs Kemi Ogedengbe.
According to the statement, the decision was reached at the Council’s 110th meeting held between January 13 and January 14, 2026.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the meeting, presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere Ekun, resolved to forward the names of 14 successful candidates to the President for appointment to the Federal High Court bench.
The Council explained that at the time of the meeting, security reports on the candidates were not available, prompting a decision to withhold the recommendations pending receipt of the reports.
“At the time of the Council meeting, the statement said, the security report on the candidates was not available and the Council resolved to await the submission of the security report before forwarding the names of the candidates to the President.
“Having received the security report, with no adverse comments on any of the recommended candidates, Council, today, the 22nd day of January 2026, forwarded the names of the following candidates to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointment as Judges of the Federal High Court”, the statement said.
The 14 candidates recommended for appointment are:
