EKO HOT BLOG reports that the governors made their position known in a communiqué issued after their meeting in Kebbi State.
The communiqué was read by Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, who hosted the meeting.
The governors acknowledged the economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians as a result of the reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
They, however, urged citizens to remain patient and continue supporting the government’s policies, expressing confidence that the reforms would ultimately deliver positive results.
“We are aware that every Nigerian is feeling the heat of economic reforms being undertaken by the Tinubu-led government, but we won’t abandon the reforms before they come to fruition. We appeal to Nigerians to support the reforms,” the governors stated.
The governors also condemned the continued attacks and abductions of schoolchildren across the country, calling for swift and decisive action against all forms of insecurity.
They stressed that every Nigerian deserved adequate protection and urged security agencies to intensify efforts to safeguard lives and property.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Idris said first-term governors seeking re-election would present their achievements to the electorate, particularly in key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, education and security.
“As first-term governors, we need the support of people at all levels as we go to them to seek their cooperation and support. We will show them what we did in agriculture, health, security and education,” he said.

The governors also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the administration of President Tinubu and pledged continued collaboration with the Federal Government in delivering development across their states.
