Addressing supporters at his Kano residence on Friday, shortly after the governor’s resignation, the former Kano State governor said his political journey has always been driven by the struggle to uplift ordinary Nigerians.

Kwankwaso declared that his convictions remain firm, stressing that he has never been motivated by personal enrichment. He noted that if self-interest had been his priority, he would have chosen an easier political path long ago.
According to him, the strength of the Kwankwasiyya Movement lies in shared values and collective purpose rather than financial inducements.
He added that the loyalty of his supporters is rooted in a common vision for social justice and good governance.
The NNPP chieftain urged members of the movement to remain steadfast and begin early mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, warning against complacency in the face of emerging political challenges.

He stressed that recent developments in Kano State make it necessary for his supporters to intensify preparations, noting that there are individuals determined to dismantle the political structures built over the years.
Reaffirming his commitment, Kwankwaso assured his followers that his focus remains on defending the interests of the masses and resisting any attempt to compromise with forces he described as exploitative.
