The wife of the Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mrs. Ramat Bola Kasali, has organised an empowerment programme aimed at boosting economic activities among women, youths, and small-scale business owners within the council area.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Speaking at the event, Mrs. Kasali explained that the initiative was conceived to promote self-reliance and improve the means of livelihood of beneficiaries across the LCDA.
She stressed that true empowerment is not limited to the distribution of materials but focuses on long-term impact and sustainability.
“Empowerment goes beyond the distribution of items,” she said. “It is about creating opportunities, strengthening families, and building a sustainable future for our community.”
Beneficiaries at the programme received various empowerment tools to support their trades and businesses. Items distributed included sewing machines, grinding machines, popcorn machines, barbing kits with generators, makeup kits, hairdressing kits, soap-making chemicals, and Point-of-Sale (POS) machines.
Mrs. Kasali expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), for his unwavering support, noting that the programme aligns with the administration’s people-oriented development agenda.
“This empowerment programme is powered by the administration of the Executive Chairman and his commitment to the welfare of the people,” she stated.
She also acknowledged the support of party leaders, the Vice Chairman, councillors, and members of the council management led by Otunba Olayiwola Giwa, as well as other political stakeholders, whose cooperation contributed to the success of the initiative.
The empowerment programme was widely applauded by beneficiaries and community members, who described it as a timely intervention that will enhance productivity, promote entrepreneurship, and contribute to economic growth within Lekki LCDA.
