In a heartfelt post on her X page on Friday, Eko Hot Blog gathered that the singer revealed that she had initially planned to drop the song last year after teasing a snippet that quickly went viral.

However, she explained that severe physical challenges made it impossible to release it on schedule.
“I was sick, weak, nauseous, and utterly exhausted. My body just wouldn’t cooperate,” Simi admitted, noting that she pushed through her illness even during the snippet video shoot to deliver her best performance.

Simi also shared her admiration for Chike, describing him as the ideal collaborator for the song.
Despite initially being out of town, Chike came straight to her studio after returning, unaware that she was pregnant and struggling physically at the time.
Reflecting on the studio sessions, Simi expressed amazement at the energy she managed to bring to the recording, given her condition.
She also revealed that she took on the mixing and mastering herself, despite disliking the process. “I hate mastering, so I don’t know what I was thinking,” she joked.
