EKO HOT BLOG reports that the nine-time African champions have confirmed their participation in the invitational competition organised by the West African Football Union B. Scheduled from February 27 to March 7, 2026, the tournament will see Ivory Coast host Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal, all of whom have already secured qualification for WAFCON 2026.
The mini-tournament offers an ideal final test ahead of the continental finals, ending just ten days before the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, which runs from March 17 to April 3, 2026.
Head coach Justine Madugu has reportedly submitted a provisional squad list for the trip to Abidjan, with the official announcement expected soon through the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
At WAFCON 2026, Nigeria will compete in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt, and debutants Malawi. The fixture against Zambia is anticipated to draw attention, following Nigeria’s 5-0 win over the Copper Queens at the last tournament, which concluded with a dramatic final victory over hosts Morocco.
Egypt returns to the finals following the expansion to 16 teams, while Malawi will make its debut appearance. The 2026 tournament will take place across four venues in Rabat, Casablanca, and Fez. Beyond continental glory, the top four semi-finalists will automatically qualify for the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

The Super Falcons will enter the championship as the most successful nation in WAFCON history, having lifted the trophy a record ten times, and will aim to extend that legacy in Morocco.
