The forecast was outlined in the agency’s Daily Weather Outlook released on Thursday via its official X handle.
NiMet noted that other parts of the northern region would experience slight dust haze in the morning, with conditions expected to persist across the region through the afternoon and evening.
In the North Central states, slight dust haze is also forecast for the morning hours and is likely to continue throughout the day into the evening.

For the southern part of the country, NiMet predicted mostly sunny conditions with few cloud patches in the morning. However, there is a slim chance of isolated thunderstorms accompanied by light rainfall over parts of Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Rivers states. Other southern areas are expected to remain largely sunny with minimal cloud cover.
The agency warned that the dust haze could significantly reduce visibility, particularly in the early hours of the day. People with respiratory conditions were advised to take necessary precautions, while motorists were urged to drive carefully under hazy conditions.
NiMet also advised airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather updates from the agency to support safe and efficient flight operations.
