The Member representing Epe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rep. Wale Raji (MHR), has carried out the January 2026 disbursement of stipends to elderly beneficiaries across the 19 wards of the constituency under the Elders Welfare Scheme, Itoju Awon Agba.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the exercise witnessed jubilant scenes as selected senior citizens received their monthly ₦10,000 support, a gesture many described as timely relief amid prevailing economic challenges.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the consistency and transparency of the scheme, noting that it has remained uninterrupted since its introduction in 2020.
Over the last five years, the welfare initiative has reached hundreds of elders across the constituency, with records indicating that more than ₦90 million has been committed to supporting their care and well-being.
Recipients noted that the regular stipend has helped them cater for basic needs while preserving their dignity in old age.
“It has truly been a lifesaver for us, especially in these hard times,” one of the beneficiaries said.
“This support reminds us that we are not forgotten and that our years of service to the community are still valued,” another recipient stated.
Rep. Raji reaffirmed his dedication to the welfare of senior citizens in the constituency, stressing that the programme reflects his belief in people-centred governance.
“Our elders deserve care, respect, and support, and this initiative will continue for as long as I have the opportunity to serve,” the lawmaker said.
