Adebisi said the policemen linked to the incident have been identified and placed in custody while an internal probe is underway. She added that statements are currently being collected from all parties involved.
“The officers concerned have been identified and brought in for investigation. Statements are being taken from the officers, the complainant, and his accompanying friend. Updates will be provided as the investigation continues,” the statement noted.

The case drew attention after a video circulated online showing Ijoba Lande seated in the front passenger seat of a vehicle with visible injuries, including blood on the left side of his face and apparent bruises.
In the footage, the actor, speaking in Yoruba, could be heard repeatedly asking for water as people around him tried to comfort him and advised that the matter be reported at a police station.

A voice in the background of the video accused officers from the Area “J” Police Division of carrying out the assault, repeatedly mentioning the division and condemning the incident as unjust.
Towards the end of the clip, the group appeared to arrive at a police station, where the actor seemed more composed.
Further allegations contained in the video’s caption claimed that the entertainer was also robbed during the encounter, with his iPhone 16 Pro Max and $1,200 in cash belonging to his brother allegedly taken.

“I returned from the UK six days ago and was attacked and beaten by police officers in Nigeria. They took my iPhone 16 Pro Max and my brother’s $1,200. I nearly lost my life,” the caption read.
The Lagos State Police Command has assured members of the public that the case is being handled seriously and that appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken if the officers are found culpable.
