The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has expressed deep sadness over the killing of a 20-year-old Nigerian student, Khaleed Oladipo, who was fatally stabbed in Leicester, United Kingdom.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Oladipo, a second-year Cybersecurity student at De Montfort University, was reportedly attacked while returning home to watch a football match. His family described him as a much-loved son whose life was cut short far too soon.
In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit at NiDCOM headquarters in Abuja, Dabiri-Erewa described the incident as heartbreaking and a devastating loss to both the Oladipo family and the wider Nigerian community at home and abroad.

She strongly condemned the killing and called on British authorities to carry out a comprehensive investigation to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
“This is a deeply painful tragedy. Khaleed’s death is one too many, and justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done,” Dabiri-Erewa said.
She added that NiDCOM would continue to engage with relevant authorities and stand by the victim’s family, reaffirming the commission’s commitment to the welfare, safety and protection of Nigerians living overseas.
