President Bola Tinubu has expressed confidence that Nigeria will overcome its security challenges, declaring that the battle against insecurity will ultimately be successful.

The President described the long-running cultural celebration as a strong representation of national unity, resilience, and peaceful coexistence.

Tinubu attributed the improved security situation in Kebbi and neighbouring states to consistent investments in intelligence gathering, better coordination among security agencies, and active community participation.
According to him, the calm currently experienced in the region is the result of deliberate strategies rather than coincidence.
He assured Nigerians that efforts to curb banditry, insurgency, and other security threats would continue until lasting peace is achieved.

The President added that farmers, fishermen, traders, and families should be able to carry out their daily activities without fear.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to food security, Tinubu pledged sustained federal backing for agricultural and fishing communities.
He also highlighted ongoing initiatives focused on youth and women empowerment, irrigation expansion, rural electrification, and increased agricultural productivity.
Commending the organizers of the festival, Tinubu noted that the event has endured for 83 years despite periods of social and security difficulties.

He said the festival showcases Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and the potential to harness both natural and human resources for national development.
The President was welcomed by a large gathering that included traditional rulers, residents, fishermen, tourists, and government officials from different parts of the country.
In his remarks, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris stated that his administration is working to upgrade the festival to meet international standards while driving development across key sectors of the state.
