They also finished as the highest-scoring side in that phase with 23 goals, while conceding just four, the best defensive record among all participating teams.
Speaking on his show, Sunday Oliseh’s Global Football Insights, the former Juventus star praised manager Mikel Arteta and his squad for their organisation and strength.
He noted that the current team looks even better equipped to challenge for the title than last season’s side.
Arsenal’s impressive European campaign secured them direct qualification to the Round of 16, sparing them the play-off stage. Their domestic form has also been encouraging, as they sit top of the Premier League table with a four-point advantage over Manchester City F.C..

He also secured league titles in Germany and the Netherlands with Dortmund and Ajax.
Drawing from that background, Oliseh believes Arsenal now possess the discipline, depth and quality necessary to compete for, and potentially lift, Europe’s most prestigious club trophy.
