The Ogun State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a Nigerian TikTok content creator identified as Mirabel.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the influencer, who uses the handle @mirab351, had shared an emotional video online alleging that the incident occurred on Sunday, February 15. Her disclosure triggered widespread reactions on social media, with many users amplifying the hashtag #StopRapingWomen to demand justice and accountability.

Following public outcry, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) confirmed that the matter had been escalated to the appropriate authorities in Ogun State for investigation.
Confirming developments on Wednesday, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the Commissioner of Police directed the Divisional Police Officer of the Ibafo Division to immediately make contact with the complainant after receiving the report.

According to Babaseyi, the survivor reported at the Ibafo Police Station, where preliminary details of the case were obtained. However, initial findings indicated that the alleged assault occurred within the Ogijo jurisdiction.
He stated that the complainant was promptly taken to a medical facility for evaluation and urgent care. After receiving initial treatment, she was transferred to the Ogijo Police Station, which has jurisdiction over the area where the incident reportedly occurred, for proper documentation and continuation of the investigation.
The police spokesperson added that due to her condition, she was referred for further medical attention to support both her recovery and the ongoing investigative process.
The Ogun State Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the complainant and assured the public that diligent steps are being taken to investigate the allegations and hold anyone found culpable accountable.
