EKO HOT BLOG reports that Wike gave the assurance on Thursday during a campaign rally in Apo District, where he urged voters to back the APC candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council chairmanship, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu.
Addressing supporters, the minister said residents should elect a chairman who would work closely with his administration to attract development to the area. He cautioned against voting for a candidate who would not align with his policies and programmes.
“I came here to tell you, if you do for me, I’ll do for you, if you love me, I’ll love you. Push me, I’ll push you. Let me tell you, the chairman has read out what you should do, let me tell you, do your own on Saturday and leave the other ones for me. All those politicians that tell you stories, I’m not one of them. I am a talk and do person,” Wike said.
He added, “I told Maikalangu, that you have to vote for somebody that can talk to me and I will listen, don’t vote for somebody that when I go left, he’ll go right, if I go front, he’ll go back.”
Wike assured residents that his administration would ensure they enjoy the dividends of democracy if they support the APC candidate at the polls.

Residents of the FCT are scheduled to vote on Saturday to elect chairmen for the six Area Councils of Abaji, Abuja Municipal, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje and Kwali, as well as councillors across 62 wards.
The elections are expected to shape grassroots leadership across the nation’s capital territory.
