EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission had initially filed a three count charge of alleged forgery against Ozekhome on January 16, 2026. The Attorney General of the Federation subsequently took over the prosecution on January 26, assuring that the matter would be handled with diligence and in line with due process.
However, during proceedings scheduled for Ozekhome’s arraignment on Tuesday, Oyedepo informed the court of the government’s decision to discontinue the case. He moved an application seeking to withdraw the charge.
According to him, the Office of the Attorney General required additional time to review and harmonise issues arising from investigations conducted by multiple agencies in order to strengthen the case.
After listening to the submission, Justice Peter Kekemeke granted the application and struck out the suit.

The development brings a temporary halt to the legal proceedings against the senior lawyer, pending any further action the government may decide to take after completing its review.
