EKO HOT BLOG reports that the directive was conveyed in an internal wireless message from the Force Headquarters in Abuja, marked “Most Immediate,” indicating the urgency of the postings.
According to the message, several Assistant Inspectors-General of Police were reassigned to strategic roles. Ado Emmanuel was posted to the Department of Research and Planning, while Joseph Eribo was assigned to the Armament Department. Miller G. Dantawaye was deployed to Operations, and Henry Ifeanyi Uche to Training and Development.
Similarly, Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo was posted to Accounts and Budget, while Dahiru Mohammed was assigned to Zone 15 in Maiduguri. Dankombo F. Morris was posted to Zone 4, Makurdi, and Bello Shehu to Zone 14, Katsina.
Further redeployments saw Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba assigned to Legal Services, Ahmed Musa to Community Policing, and Olohundare Moshood Jimoh to Zone 2 Command in Lagos. Simeon U. Akpanudom was redeployed to the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Lagos, while Haruna Olufemi was posted to the Special Protection Unit at Force Headquarters.
All formations were directed to update their records in line with the new postings.
The redeployments followed recent promotions within the force, with newly elevated officers expected to assume their roles immediately. Sources said the move is part of efforts to reposition the police for improved efficiency.
The posting of Jimoh to Zone 2 Command, Lagos, comes after weeks of reported lobbying for a strategic role within the state. The command, headquartered in Onikan, oversees police operations in Lagos and Ogun states.
Jimoh, who became the 41st Commissioner of Police in Lagos in February 2025, is expected to vacate the position following his elevation to AIG.

Sources indicated that Tijani Fatai, currently Commissioner of Police for the Eastern Ports Command, may be appointed as his replacement.
