Fury expresses support as Joshua targets July comeback.
Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has dismissed talks of a potential bout with Anthony Joshua for now, saying his rival needs time following a fatal car crash that claimed two members of his team.
Anthony Joshua was involved in a serious accident on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway on December 29 when his vehicle struck a stationary truck.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that his close friends, personal trainer Latif Ayodele and strength and conditioning coach Sina Ghami, died at the scene. Joshua sustained minor injuries and was discharged from hospital after two days.
Court proceedings against his driver, Adeniyi Kayode, have been adjourned until March 13 at a magistrate’s court in Sagamu, Ogun State.
Fury, who is preparing for a return bout against unbeaten contender Arslanbek Makhmudov in a fight set to stream on Netflix, said he would not pursue a showdown with Joshua under the current circumstances.
“I’m not interested in going toe to toe with somebody who’s in a bad place at the moment. I’ve been in a bad place many, many times. I wish them boys all the best,” Fury told The Ring Magazine.
Fury and Joshua have long been linked with an all British heavyweight clash but have never fought. Negotiations intensified in 2020 after Joshua defeated Kubrat Pulev, but talks collapsed over financial disagreements.
A proposed two fight deal the following year also failed after a United States arbitration panel ordered Fury to complete his trilogy with Deontay Wilder. Subsequent discussions broke down amid contract disputes and retirement claims.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, said the 36 year old is targeting a return in July and remains determined to continue his career in honour of his late friends.
