Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reportedly rejected an offer to become the head coach of the Italian national team.

According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Guardiola turned down an approach from the Italian Football Federation after considering the proposal this week.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager is understood to be taking a break from coaching after ending his 10 year spell at Manchester City.

Guardiola took charge of City in 2016 and remained in the position until 2026, overseeing one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.

Klopp has agreed to a long term contract that will reportedly keep him in charge of Germany until July 2030.
