Images circulated online showed cuts to the right side of the boy’s face, including one close to his eye. He was also said to have suffered wounds to his chest near the shoulder and on his forearm. The teenager was subsequently taken to a hospital, where he received treatment overnight.
In a series of posts, the X user alleged that the confrontation began after the teenager cautioned the suspect’s child to go indoors. She claimed the situation escalated, leading to the alleged attack on both the boy and his mother when she intervened.

The posts also raised concerns about the initial response from a local police unit, alleging that officers indicated arrests could not be made until the following day. The family, however, stated their intention to pursue the matter through legal channels.
Under the viral post, the Lagos State Police Command and the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency responded, urging the complainant to check her direct messages and report the case formally.
When contacted, the police confirmed that the matter had been reported and the suspect taken into custody.
“The post was engaged, and they were advised to report at the nearest police station, which they did. The boy is receiving treatment at the hospital, and the suspect is presently in police custody,” the command stated.
Attempts to obtain additional comments from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
