The atmosphere at Lagos Road, Epe, was filled with reflection and renewed commitment to faith on Sunday, March 1, 2026, as the Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (AUD), Epe Branch, held its impactful public lecture at the society’s mosque premises.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the well-attended gathering brought together prominent figures from the Islamic, educational, and traditional institutions within Epe Division.
Among those present were the Onimedu of Orimedu, HRM Oba Yisa Toheeb Oyedele; the Mogaji Ngeri of Epe Kingdom, Alhaji Adio Oduola; Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Adeyemi Adebomehin; the Olori Olu Epe, HRH M. A. Adewale; Education Secretary, Epe LGEA, Otunba Aliu Shittu (Saico); National Chairperson of ADSN, Alhaja Safirah Abebi Animashaun; and Alhaja Abosede Shittu, among others.
Addressing members and guests, the Branch Chairman, Mayor Hafeez Shittu, presented a scorecard of achievements recorded under the current administration, describing the period as one marked by growth and accountability.
“I’m proud to report that Ansar-ud-deen Epe has made significant strides in various areas which are too numerous to mention,” he said.
He revealed that the branch recently completed the renovation of its mosque, creating a more conducive environment for worship and activities.
“We have successfully renovated the Mosque, providing a conducive environment for our congregational prayers and other activities.
I give thanks and adoration to Almighty Allah for His generous support of our members, who made this possible,” he stated.
The chairman also announced the acquisition of a branch vehicle to enhance outreach and community engagement.
“We have also procured a branch vehicle which will greatly facilitate our outreach and community programmes,” he added.
In a notable development, he disclosed that a dedicated female member donated two plots of land to serve as a burial ground for the society.
“In addition, I’m delighted to announce that one of our esteemed mothers and a society member has donated two plots of land for Burial ground purposes. May Allah reward her abundantly,” he prayed.
Mayor Shittu expressed gratitude to dignitaries and members for honoring the invitation despite their busy schedules, stressing that probity, transparency, and accountability remain the guiding principles of the branch leadership.
In their goodwill messages, Alhaji Adeyemi Adebomehin, Alhaji Adio Oduola, and Alhaja Safirah Abebi Animashaun applauded the executive members for their dedication and urged continued cooperation for the growth and propagation of Islam in Epe and beyond.
The guest lecturer and Missioner of ADS Imota Branch, Sheikh Muhammed Saheed Adesina Abdul Azeez, spoke on the spiritual essence of Ramadan, describing fasting as a means of attaining divine reward.
“Ramadan fasting is a path to Jannah, and during this sacred month, the doors of hell fire are closed,” he noted.
He encouraged Muslim faithful to sustain good deeds, devotion, and discipline even after the holy month.

The lecture concluded with prayers for unity, peace, and sustained progress for the society and the entire Epe community.
