The President of the Senate of Nigeria, Godswill Akpabio, has said the Federal Government has put measures in place to tackle insecurity and restore safety across the country.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Akpabio gave the assurance on Friday during the inauguration of a sub committee of the National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress.

He stated that addressing insecurity remains a top priority for the current administration.
According to the Senate President, the Federal Government is also working with the international community to address security challenges and promote national stability.
Akpabio noted that the ruling party is satisfied with the efforts of the president so far and expressed confidence that the administration will continue to implement policies aimed at repositioning Nigeria as a safe and secure country.
He also urged Nigerians to focus on strengthening the country’s internal capacity, particularly in the face of global economic and political uncertainties.
The Senate President referenced ongoing global tensions, including the Russia Ukraine War, and developments involving Iran, Israel and the United States, noting that such events continue to affect the global economy.
Akpabio encouraged Nigerians to support local production and consumption as part of efforts to strengthen the nation’s economy.

“This is the time to think Nigeria. In everything we do, both in terms of policies and legislation, we must look inward, consume what we produce and produce what we consume,” he said.
