EKO HOT BLOG reports that the confirmation followed a series of recent engagements between Kwankwaso and key political figures.
On Saturday, Kwankwaso visited former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at his residence in Abuja.
Confirming the meeting, Atiku said both leaders discussed national issues.
“This evening, I received the former Governor of Kano State and the Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on a courtesy visit. We had a robust discussion on the state of the nation,” he said.
Before the meeting with Atiku, Kwankwaso had also held a closed door meeting with the National Secretary of the ADC, Rauf Aregbesola, in Abuja.
The discussions are believed to be part of ongoing consultations as Kwankwaso concludes talks with the ADC leadership ahead of his planned defection.
Earlier, the Kwankwasiyya Movement disclosed that Kwankwaso was in talks with both the African Democratic Congress and the National Democratic Congress as part of wider political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The movement’s spokesperson, Mansur Kurugu, said negotiations among key political actors were at an advanced stage, although no final consensus had initially been reached on the political platform.
