The All Progressives Congress has criticised the African Democratic Congress over its ongoing leadership crisis, insisting that the party is responsible for its internal challenges.
The ruling party also accused the ADC of promoting conspiracy theories alleging attempts by the APC to destabilise it.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the ADC’s current situation was self-inflicted.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Morka described the opposition party as one facing internal confusion and desperation, adding that its present condition was a result of its own actions.
According to him, the crisis began when a faction led by David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola allegedly assumed control of the party leadership in violation of its constitutional provisions.
“Quite apart from being an assembly of Nigeria’s most confused and desperate politicians, the African Democratic Congress has distinguished itself as a peddler of rabid conspiracy theories about what the APC is or is not doing to undermine the party,” Morka said.
He added that the ADC was bound to face internal instability due to what he described as poor leadership decisions.
The APC also defended the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission to withdraw recognition of the factional leadership led by David Mark.
Morka said the commission acted in line with the law and existing court rulings.
“INEC’s decision to de-recognise the factional David Mark-led executives in compliance with the judgment of the court is valid in law, justified in fact, and consistent with electoral policy and democratic practice,” he stated.
He maintained that the development was a direct consequence of how the ADC handled its internal affairs, accusing the party of failing to take responsibility for its disputes.
“A party that cannot fix itself cannot possibly fix Nigeria,” Morka said.
The APC spokesperson also alleged that the ADC has focused more on criticising the ruling party rather than presenting alternative policies.
“The ADC has absolutely nothing to offer more than its senseless attacks against the APC. Attacking the APC seems to be its cardinal commitment and manifesto,” he said.
Despite the exchanges, Morka said the APC and the administration of Bola Tinubu remain committed to implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He added that the government is focused on strengthening democratic institutions and promoting peace, unity and national development.
