A tragic road accident along the Okolowo–Jebba expressway in Kwara State has claimed the lives of six passengers, with 12 others sustaining injuries.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the crash, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday around 6:00 a.m., involved a Toyota Hummer bus carrying 18 passengers and a stationary truck near the Danjuma Bakery area.

According to reports, the bus was travelling from Lagos to Katsina State when it rammed into the parked truck along the highway.
The impact of the collision led to the immediate death of six passengers, while the remaining 12 suffered varying degrees of injuries.

The injured victims were rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital morgue.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, as concerns continue over road safety and the dangers of stationary vehicles on highways.
