The consignment was reportedly intended for bandit groups operating in forest areas across the North-West.
Security sources disclosed that the arrest followed actionable intelligence, which enabled operatives to intercept the shipment before it could be delivered.
During interrogation, Usman allegedly confessed to being involved in the illicit trade for about two months. She reportedly identified an individual known as “Teso” as her supplier, who is said to be working in collaboration with a soldier based in Lafia.

She further disclosed that she had facilitated transactions worth about N5 million, supplying ammunition to multiple individuals, including a bandit leader identified as Mallam Haruna.
The DSS described the operation as a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks linked to insecurity in the North-West. Security agencies have since intensified efforts to track down other members of the alleged syndicate connected to the arms supply chain.
