Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has dismissed reports suggesting he plans to contest in the 2027 general elections, stating clearly that he has no intention of seeking any elective position.
In a statement issued on Saturday in Makurdi by his media aide, Eko Hot Blog reports that Dr Terver Akase, Ortom described the claims circulating on social media as false and misleading.

The reports had alleged that he was preparing to run for the Benue North-West Senatorial seat.
The former governor stressed that he has repeatedly made his position known, adding that there should be no confusion or misinterpretation about his stance.

According to him, his focus remains on promoting democratic values, strengthening the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and contributing to national development in an advisory capacity rather than pursuing political office.
He urged the public to disregard the reports, describing them as baseless fabrications.
