Senate President Godswill Akpabio has said he considers himself a Lagosian, just like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Akpabio made the remark on Wednesday while representing the President at the inauguration of key projects, including the Ojota Opebi link bridge, the E GIS project, and the Alausa complex in Lagos.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking at the event, he recounted his long-standing connection with Lagos, noting that he spent several years living and working in the state.
He said his relationship with the city began during his National Youth Service, where he started building his professional career.
According to him, he lived in areas around Bourdillon for many years and also worked along Ajose Adeogun as a director in a telecommunications company.
Akpabio added that he practised law in Lagos during his early years as a lawyer and became familiar with different parts of the city, including Opebi and Allen.
He also highlighted the transformation Lagos has undergone over time, stating that he has witnessed the city’s growth across different phases of development.
The Senate President explained that his presence at the event was in line with his constitutional role, which places him in a position to represent the government.

He said President Tinubu entrusted him with the responsibility of attending the inauguration on his behalf, citing his position as head of the National Assembly.
