A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed reports of a purported meeting between another group within the party and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), urging members to disregard the claims.
The group, through its National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, stated that the meeting involving a faction led by Taminu Turaki was not sanctioned by the party’s leadership, Eko Hot Blog reports.

He maintained that the PDP has not initiated or participated in any talks with the ADC or its officials, stressing that those who attended the gathering did so in a personal capacity and not on behalf of the party.

According to him, any narrative suggesting official PDP involvement is inaccurate and should be ignored by both party faithful and the public.
Mohammed added that the PDP is currently concentrating on internal activities, particularly preparations for its upcoming primaries, noting that details of the timetable and guidelines will be released in due course as the party continues to position itself for national leadership.
Meanwhile, the Turaki-led group had earlier engaged with a faction of the ADC linked to David Mark, describing the meeting as part of efforts to strengthen alliances ahead of the 2027 elections.

The discussion, which lasted about two hours, reportedly focused on national issues and explored potential areas of collaboration.
Prominent political figures present included former Minister of Information Jerry Gana, former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu, and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.
Also in attendance were former governors Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Aminu Tambuwal, and Rotimi Amaechi.
Others included the ADC National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami, alongside other key political stakeholders who took part in the talks.
