Fatodu explained that beyond organising competitions, the commission is focused on developing the broader business ecosystem around sports, including areas such as hospitality and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
According to him, sports remains a vast and largely untapped sector capable of driving economic growth if properly structured to attract investors and entrepreneurs.
He noted that the commission is working to identify both primary and secondary investment opportunities within the sports value chain, with the aim of creating room for businesses and individuals to participate.

Fatodu also praised members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria for documenting sporting history through the publication, describing it as a vital tool for preserving experiences and guiding future development.
He supported the initiative with a donation of ₦250,000.
In response, the acting chairman of Lagos SWAN, Aaron Akerejola, commended the commission’s leadership and disclosed that the next edition of the book will be released digitally, with a focus on upcoming sporting events in the state.
