The Ogun State Police Command has arrested and arraigned nine individuals for traffic-related offences under its ongoing enforcement drive tagged ‘Operation No Traffic Gridlock’ in the Sango-Ota area.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the suspects ; Rufus Kunle, Sanni Ogbewi, Aremu Oluwatunmise, Kayode Ariyo, Wisdom Akpan, Yinka Molaolu, Olushola Adebowale, Ikechukwu Ogah and Nwuda Chukwuka were accused of obstructing public highways and violating traffic regulations.

Confirming the development, the command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said operatives were strategically deployed to major traffic flashpoints known for congestion and road indiscipline.

He explained that during the operation, several vehicles and tricycles were intercepted for breaching traffic laws, while those found blocking the free flow of traffic were impounded in line with the command’s zero-tolerance policy.
Babaseyi added that all the suspects have been charged to court, noting that enforcement efforts are ongoing to apprehend other violators.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers involved in the operation and reaffirmed the command’s resolve to tackle traffic violations.
He warned that anyone found deliberately causing traffic gridlock or disobeying lawful directives of traffic officers would face strict legal consequences.
