- Singer Peter Okoye, known as Mr P, has officially declared that he will no longer celebrate his birthday on November 18, shifting the date to November 30.
- Described as a “personal decision,” the move is widely interpreted as a definitive step to decouple his brand and celebrations from his twin brother, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy).
- Peter stated he will no longer accept gifts, messages, or well-wishes on the original November 18 date, which the twins had shared since their birth in 1981.
In a move that has sent ripples through the Nigerian entertainment industry, Peter Okoye of the legendary P-Square duo has formally “resigned” from his birth date
Eko Hot Blog reports that making the announcement via his X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the singer informed fans and family that November 18 is no longer his day of celebration.

“I’m making it official. November 18th is no longer my birthday celebration date,” Peter wrote. “My birthday will now be celebrated on November 30th. This is a personal decision, and I truly appreciate your understanding.”
The decision marks perhaps the most symbolic rupture yet in the complex relationship between the Okoye twins.

While the brothers have experienced several public fallouts and brief reconciliations since their initial split years ago, sharing a birthday remained a constant link.
By moving his celebration to November 30, Peter effectively ends the tradition of joint birthday tributes that have characterized their solo careers.
Reaction online has been polarized. While some fans view it as a necessary step for his mental health and individual branding, others have expressed sadness at what appears to be a deepening chasm between the brothers.
