Soludo said the state government had already arrested several individuals accused of misleading people with false religious teachings centred on quick wealth and unrealistic promises.

According to him, some suspects are currently in custody and assisting investigators with information.
He stated that his administration was determined to build a cleaner society by discouraging deceptive practices and encouraging values such as hard work, discipline and accountability.
The governor also praised the Catholic Church for promoting moral standards and supporting initiatives aimed at improving society.
He highlighted the impact of the state’s burial reform policy, noting that it had helped reduce excessive spending on funerals while promoting dignity and moderation.
While responding to requests from members of the Knights, Soludo approved support for charitable outreach to orphanages but declined calls for government funds to purchase ceremonial uniforms, insisting public resources should not be used for private regalia.

He urged the Knights and church leaders to remain close to the people and continue serving as voices of integrity and social responsibility within their communities.
The event featured a Pontifical Mass led by Paulinus Ezeokafor, while the diocesan secretary, Evaristus Iheanacho, delivered a sermon focused on discipline, reflection and service.
The crackdown is also reported to include action against suspected fraudulent native doctors. One of those arrested was Johnpaul Ezenagu, popularly known as “Mmuo Mmili Afulu Anya,” who was accused of conducting illegal rituals and supplying fake currency to internet fraud suspects.
