Caleb Mutfwang has assured residents of affected communities in Plateau State that his administration will intensify security efforts and ensure justice for victims of recent attacks in Barkin Ladi and Bassa Local Government Areas.
The governor gave the assurance on Monday during a visit to the Nding community in Barkin Ladi LGA, where several people were killed and many families displaced following a violent attack, Eko Hot Blog reports.

Mutfwang, who was accompanied by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Bernard Doro, met with widows, children and other survivors to express condolences and reassure them of government support.

Speaking during the visit, the governor said the state government would not abandon the community, insisting that Nding would overcome the tragedy.
He explained that he had been monitoring the security situation closely and remained in constant contact with local authorities and security agencies since the attacks began.
Mutfwang praised security operatives for responding quickly to the incident, noting that their intervention helped stop the violence from spreading into Barkin Ladi town.
He also warned that any security personnel found collaborating with attackers would face investigation and prosecution.
During a stakeholders’ security meeting attended by traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups and community representatives, the governor vowed that those behind the killings in Plateau State would be identified and brought to justice.
According to him, the government remains committed to protecting lives and restoring peace across affected communities.
As part of fresh security measures, Mutfwang reaffirmed the ban on night mining activities, directing that all mining operations must end by 5 p.m. daily.
He also announced restrictions on night grazing and prohibited the use of underage children for grazing activities, urging livestock owners and parents to comply with the directives.
The governor stressed that Plateau State would not surrender to violence and criminality, while directing security agencies to strengthen surveillance and enforcement efforts.

He also appealed to the media to avoid reports capable of damaging the state’s image, insisting that Plateau remains deserving of its reputation as the “Home of Peace and Tourism.”
Mutfwang further assured farmers of improved security ahead of the farming season and announced plans to provide subsidised fertiliser to support agricultural activities.
The minister, Bernard Doro, also pledged Federal Government support for affected communities through humanitarian assistance and recovery programmes.
After the visit to Barkin Ladi, the governor proceeded to Ngbrazongo village in Bassa Local Government Area, where he sympathised with residents over another recent attack and promised additional measures to prevent future violence.
