The ancient town of Odomola in Epe Division of Lagos State has been enveloped in grief following the passing of His Royal Majesty, Oba Engr. Adebowale Sulaimon Adeshina, the Ilufemiloye Orimoyegun Akeren II, Omola of Odomola Kingdom.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the death of the revered monarch has created an atmosphere of sorrow across the kingdom, as residents, chiefs, family members, political figures, and well-wishers continue to mourn the departure of a royal father widely respected for his wisdom, humility, and commitment to community development.
Oba Engr. Adebowale Sulaimon Adeshina ascended the throne of his forefathers and officially received the instrument of office from the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in May 2023, amidst jubilation and celebration by indigenes of Odomola Kingdom and the larger Epe community.
During his reign, the late monarch was admired for promoting peace, unity, and cultural preservation within the kingdom. He played significant roles in strengthening traditional values while supporting initiatives aimed at advancing the growth and welfare of the people.
Residents described the late king as a compassionate and accessible ruler who always welcomed dialogue and encouraged harmony among community members.
One of the residents said, “Kabiyesi was more than a traditional ruler; he was a father, mentor, and peacemaker. His death is a painful loss to the entire Odomola Kingdom.”
Another community leader added, “The king was passionate about the progress of Odomola. He carried himself with dignity and always sought the peace and unity of the land.”
Since the announcement of his passing, sympathizers have continued to troop into the community to commiserate with the royal family and palace chiefs over the monumental loss.
Traditional rites are expected to commence in line with the customs and traditions of the kingdom, while details regarding burial arrangements are anticipated to be announced by the palace in due course.
The passing of Oba Engr. Adebowale Sulaimon Adeshina marks the end of an important chapter in the history of Odomola Kingdom, leaving behind a legacy of service, leadership, and dedication to his people.
