EKO HOT BLOG reports that the development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin.
According to the board, the affected results were released after investigations found no prima facie evidence linking the candidates to examination malpractice or other infractions during the examination.
Benjamin explained that the newly released results were part of JAMB’s ongoing review process aimed at protecting the integrity of the UTME while ensuring that innocent candidates were not unfairly penalised.
He, however, stated that some results remained cancelled after investigations confirmed the involvement of certain candidates in examination malpractice.
The examination body stressed that investigations into other suspected malpractice cases were still ongoing, particularly those involving centres flagged by JAMB’s live monitoring system.
Benjamin said results linked to suspicious activities or adverse reports from examination centres would remain withheld pending the conclusion of investigations.
According to him, JAMB would only release such results after completing necessary reviews and confirming that neither the candidates nor the centres were involved in any wrongdoing.
He warned that any candidate eventually found guilty of malpractice would have his or her result cancelled in line with the board’s regulations.
The board advised candidates who were yet to access their results to verify their status through the approved process.
JAMB directed candidates to send “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.
The board maintained that the ongoing review process was part of broader efforts to strengthen transparency, credibility and public confidence in the conduct of the UTME.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of JAMB.
Aina will replace Professor Is-haq Oloyede, whose second tenure as registrar is expected to end on July 31, 2026.
The appointment was confirmed in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the Presidency, Aina is expected to build on the reforms and achievements recorded under Oloyede’s leadership while strengthening the board’s digital and operational systems.
