The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has concluded its governorship primaries across 10 states ahead of the 2027 general elections, with candidates emerging through direct contests, consensus arrangements and affirmation votes.

- Plateau State – Kefas Ropshik
Ropshik emerged as the PDP governorship candidate after polling 19,938 votes in a keenly contested primary where he defeated three other aspirants. He described his victory as a mandate to unite the state and promised to prioritise peace, development and inclusiveness if elected governor. - Oyo State – Hazeem Gbolarumi
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the former deputy governor secured the party’s ticket with 3,615 votes, defeating Beulah Adeoye who polled 22 votes. Gbolarumi thanked party leaders and delegates across the 33 local government areas and pledged to deliver on a shared vision for the state. - Kaduna State – Shehu Bawa
Bawa emerged winner after scoring 124,170 votes to defeat Haruna Saeed, who polled 22,010 votes. He pledged to focus on tackling insecurity, poverty and improving living conditions across Kaduna State if elected governor. - Katsina State – Garba Lado Danmarke
Danmarke emerged as the PDP consensus governorship candidate after securing 77,013 valid affirmation votes. Party officials confirmed his emergence following a consensus arrangement endorsed during the exercise. - Kano State – Muhammad Bello Dalhatu
Dalhatu defeated Mohammed Abacha, son of former Head of State Sani Abacha, to clinch the ticket. He polled 2,233 votes against Abacha’s 749 votes. The election committee commended delegates and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful process. - Nasarawa State – David Ombugadu
Ombugadu emerged as the PDP governorship candidate during a stakeholders’ meeting in Lafia supervised by INEC officials. Party leaders said his emergence reflected wide acceptance across senatorial zones. He later named Yahaya Ohinoye as his running mate and vowed to strengthen unity and governance in the state. - Taraba State – Emmanuel Bwacha
