The Amir and Lead Imam of the Lagos State House of Assembly Muslim Community, Abdushshakur Adeleke Osoala, has urged Muslims in Nigeria and across the world to embrace peace, unity and love as they celebrate Eid al-Adha.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a goodwill message released ahead of the celebration, Osoala said the festival goes beyond merriment, stressing that it is a period for reflection, sacrifice, compassion and total submission to the will of Allah.

He explained that Eid al-Adha commemorates the faith and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim, describing the occasion as a reminder for Muslims to uphold the values of tolerance, generosity and peaceful coexistence.
According to him, Muslims should use the period to strengthen relationships, support the less privileged and promote harmony within their communities, regardless of ethnic, political or religious differences.
“Eid al-Adha teaches us the values of sacrifice, tolerance, generosity, and love for humanity,” Osoala said.
“As we celebrate this sacred festival, Muslims should continue to uphold peaceful coexistence, show kindness to neighbours, support the less privileged, and foster unity irrespective of ethnic, religious, or political differences.”
The cleric also urged Nigerians to pray for peace, stability and progress in Lagos State and across the country, while encouraging residents to celebrate responsibly and maintain law and order during the festivities.

He further appealed to wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to extend support to struggling families through charity, food sharing and humanitarian assistance.
Osoala also offered prayers for President Bola Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the leadership of the Lagos State House of Assembly under Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.
He concluded by wishing Muslims a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Eid al-Adha celebration while urging them to continue living by the virtues of sacrifice and compassion after the festivities.
